History and Pictures
The repeater location was surveyed by local amateur radio operator Ervins, YL2CQ. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the owners of the lighthouse for making this installation possible. The repeater was installed on 2 October and brought into operation on 15 October, once the licence had been approved. The repeater was assigned the callsign YL3RNO. The installation was carried out by Ivar Juris YL3NO, Ervins YL2CQ, Ivars, YL3RS, and Mareks YL3ND. All the repeater equipment was supplied from Norway through private sponsorship by Ivar Juris LA9TKA, with additional support from Rune LA8GKA. A big thank you to everyone who contributed equipment, time, effort, and support to get this repeater on the air!
