What Is a Repeater?

Simply put, a repeater is a device that receives and retransmits radio signals, extending the range of radio communications. If two people are too far apart to communicate directly using ordinary radios, a repeater can provide the solution. By placing the repeater at an elevated location, ideally between the two stations, radio signals can be relayed over much greater distances.
How to Use the Repeater
Press the Push-To-Talk (PTT) button on your radio and speak. Your signal is transmitted to the repeater on the transmit frequency of 431.100 MHz. The repeater receives your signal and retransmits it on 438.700 MHz. The receiving station can then hear your voice on 438.700 MHz. When the other station wants to reply, the process is the same: transmit on 431.100 MHz and listen on 438.700 MHz.
All licensed amateur radio operators are very welcome to use this repeater!
